BradI was actually born into the entertainment industry. My father, Phil Kimmelman, is a cartoonist and animation director whose claim to fame is being one of the creators of Schoolhouse Rock, back in the 70’s. My mother was a high fashion photographer for Harry Conover Modeling in the 50’s, but gave it all up to become a wife and mother, and eventually went back to help run the animation studio in the 70’s.Funny, I did not grow up dreaming about being a Realtor. I was sure I would be a movie star. I studied acting in NY at the age of twelve and at 16 got my first National TV Commercial for Anacin. I auditioned on Broadway, and appeared in some very small roles in films, TV and stage throughout my twenties. In high school, at Rye Country Day School in Rye, New York, I got my first job delivering singing telegams for a company called Witty Ditty in Scarsdale, NY. That was a lot of fun! Throughout college, I was a dinner cruise singing waiter on The Spirit of Boston . After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Broadcasting and Film, I worked in Manhattan on Wall Street for Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services, where I learned to negotiate office leases.I took a two year break in 1987 to move out to Los Angeles give my acting career one more shot. In 1989 was living like a gypsy in L.A. and I decided I really like the finer things in life. I moved back to NY put my Film degree to work for me, and began my career in video/film production and finally worked for years as a Broadcast Producer at Grey Worldwide Advertising, producing TV commercials. In 2000, I got burnt out with the corporate world, and needed a change. Thinking a career in finance would be fulfilling, I got my Series-7 stockbroker’s license, and worked for 6 weeks in that field after passing all my tests. Exhausted, I moved to Connecticut in 2001, and decided to get into residential Real Estate, because I think “home” is the most important place in the world, and I wanted to help people find their “home”. This was one of my best decisions, as I have had a wonderful time doing exactly that. I have built a successful career here in Ridgefield, and in the process have met fantastic people and made some wonderful friends. I live on Rainbow Lake here in Ridgefield, with my partner Jorge, and our 2 Yorkie dogs, Zack and Sydney. I still perform in theater from time to time, and still love to sing. Hobbies: Tennis, Theater, Film, Swimming, Travel, Hiking and Biking. |
