6 Reasons Why Your Dog Needs to Live in Ridgefield, NOW!

Dogs in RidgefieldIf Bailey (or Jenny or Titan, …) could talk, without a doubt, he’d be saying “let’s move to Ridgefield, CT!” When checking out places to live, people always ask me about the amenities: schools/daycare, activities, recreation… you know, “what to do”. Hey guess what, dogs do the same thing… they need the 4-1-1 like everyone else! Well, all your canine’s fantasies come true in Ridgefield and here’s what we’ve got for him:

1) The Bark Park:

Where he can “hang with the gang”. A place just for dogs to run and play (w/o leashes) and to be the social animals they are. Taking your pup to the Bark Park is a great way to socialize with other dogsin the pack.

2) Ridgefield Activities and Recreation:

The local dogs go bonkers for the annual Canine Carnival where he can show off all his tricks, win competitions and look pretty for the crowd. Also, Ridgefield’s annual Bernese Mountain Dog Parade brings “Berners” from all over the Northeast to stroll down Main Street… what a sight! There’s also thousands of acres of forests and woods to walk, run and explore: Pierrepont State Part, Bennetts Pond, Hemlock Hills and swimming in Lake Windwing!

3) Ridgefield Pet Healthcare:

With 4 Animal Hospitals in town, it’s like living in Rochester Minnesota (you know, home of the word famous Mayo Clinic ). Your dog is always close to medical care that’ll keep him in top shape. Hospitals include Quarry Ridge Animal Hospital, Ridgefield Veterinary Hospital, Ridgefield Animal Hospital and Redding Veterinary Hospital.

4) Doggy Daycare and Schools:

Dogs know a good doggie daycare when they see it And Bone Jour on Danbury Rd. offers convience and service that you and your “best friend” will love. For schools, check out The 10 Minute Dog, The Canine College, Grateful Dog, Bone-afide and the Rec Center.

5) Giving Back and Rescue:

Your pooch understands the need to help his disadvantaged brethren and “give back”. The Ridgefield Organization for Animal Rescue, ROAR, is a tremendous philanthropy that houses and places rescue dogs within the community.

6) Integration in the Ridgefield Community:

A dog needs to live in an integrated community. Our dogs are important citizens with great responsibilities. Police Officer Zeus works tirelessly to keep us all safe. Ridgefield’s corps. of therapy dogs are enhancing human lives in area schools, hospitals and nursing homes.

What a GREAT post! I discovered it when submitting a much less comprehensive post of my own to DIGG, and I’m blown away by this. Clearly, any dog with rather live in Ridgefield than my community of Crofton. Love your website!
